It starts with local plants and local people
Join me in supporting real change, with an organization I grew up in. Let’s support the good in the world that will come from our young people and who make a difference. Help us bring diversity and equity to the environmental stewardship filed for Literacy for Environmental Justice
LEJ was founded in 1998 to empower young people who envisioned a healthier future for their community. Tackling local environmental issues enabled those local youth to enhance their well-being and build a deeper connection to parks and open spaces. This remains a vital part of our work today.
In 2018, LEJ provided paid apprenticeships to 17 young adults. Since 1998, LEJ has served over 20,000 young people from under-served communites, including 130 'green-collar' apprentices.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Literacy for Environmental Justice.
- $25 will allow an Eco-Apprentice to give an hour-long presentation to a community group or a class
- $50 will provide an Eco-Apprentice with an intensive training in how to lead a volunteer day
- $120 will enable an Eco-Apprentice to receive professional pathway training
- $500 will enable an Eco-Apprentice to collect, grow and propagate 1,000 native plants.
